Westwood is an LA district that is west of Beverly Hills and Century City, east of West Los Angeles and Brentwood, and north of Rancho Park branching off of Wilshire Boulevard. Westwood is one of the wealthier areas of the city, known as a movie-going district for its many vintage movie theaters like the Mann Village, Art Deco Crest, and Mann Bruin which hosts many movie premieres. Westwood’s history dates back to the 1919 when the district was developed by wealthy retailer Arthur Letts and his son-in-law, Harold Janss. The University of California, Los Angeles subsequently moved from East Hollywood and made northern section of Westwood its new campus location.[1]

Today, Westwood is considered to be broken up into various sections: the heart of Westwood – the Wilshire Boulevard area where you’ll find high-rises, penthouse condos, and congested traffic, the low-rise neighborhood of Westwood Village north of Wilshire where all the students, movie-goers, and shoppers flock, and the UCLA campus which is north of the Westwood Village.[2]
