Wallingford is a neighborhood in north-central Seattle, just north of Lake Union. It is primarily a business district where you’ll find bars, taverns, movie theatres, grocery stores, and several restaurants.[1]

The main attraction of Wallingford is the Gas Works Park, which is a popular place to stroll, jog, bike, or skate among residents. Its trail loops around the shore of the lake. You’ll also find canoeists, swimmers, sailboarders, anglers, and birdwatchers at the park. Gas Works Park was originally a coal gasification plant during the first half of the 20th century but was purchased by the city in 1962 and turned into a city park. Crowds form here during the Fourth of July to watch the Lake Union fireworks display.[2]
