If you drive about three hundred miles north from Seattle, you would reach the wine country in the west of Canada. It would be a complete thrill if you and your family or your friends were on a road trip to go traveling to taste wine and savor the entire experience.

There is a tasting room which you go into and sample the different wines that you fancy.  Once you ease into the journey, you can get into tasting the different wines and chardonnays.

The Okanogan valleys have apparently become a major winemaking region. This is because of the glacial till here is quite well drained.  Also the temperature keeps changing because of the eighty five mile long Okanogan Lake. This place runs through the heart of the valley here.

If you are looking for some sunshine then you should definitely come here. Mind you; the sunshine in Canadian standards is a quite different to the sunlight you might be used to.

This Okanogan valley used to be quite different until the place entirely changed in the latter part of the eighties. . This place used to produce inexpensive and mediocre wine for a long time; mostly for domestic consumption. In the year nineteen hundred and ninety eight, the Canadian trade policy took the price protection for domestically made wine.  And the valley in this way could not compete with he prices and flavors of inexpensive wines that were imported.

This is when it was decided all the inexpensive domestic wines should be replaced with good quality wines using produce that is more refined and especially more marketable. This culture later, gained pace and flourished right along the orchard in these valleys.

Today, the selection of wine here is quite impressive. There is a wide variety of grapes that are grown here right in the valley. Also this place has many microclimates because of its geographical position.  You will find many oak chardonnays and ones that are pretty Un-oaky as well.

This place apparently also grows grapes and has specific blends that have been brought in by the elite especially for Cult followings.

The towns of Pentiction and Kelowna are both high both altitude wise and latitude wise, and the kind of wines available and grown here bring in flavors and indigenous affiliations with Europe, Pinot Noirs and Germanic Whites.  This place is also famous for its ‘Ice wine’.

This place happens to be the southern part of the valley. It also happens to be the place where the best grapes are grown.  The syrah wines are also made here.
