New Orleans, this city has suffered from the hits of hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and today it is rebuilding its glory to attract more tourists from all over the world. Many people have visited this beautiful place and many more are still planning to take a vacation in New Orleans. It is a major port of United States and is also the largest city in the state of Louisiana. Ninety percent of the businesses happen in the main areas of interest to tourists like the French Quarter, the Shopping district on Magazine, and Downtown. These places are widely visited by the tourists from all over the world and so are open for business, especially for its natural areas on higher ground, which maintains less damage.

In fact, water, air, and land tests have proved that this area is safe. As it is a major port, most of the tourists throng here from cruise ships boosting the economy of the country as well. It is a great place to visit, as the city is renowned for its worldwide reputation for being fun and free. Practically, if we see this city is very different and special. I started my perfect vacation by catching a streetcar towards the French Quarter. I wandered around through the Quarter that given me opportunity to experience the lacy, twisted iron balconies. With this, I enjoyed experiencing the street musician who was playing on the Moonwalk across from Jackson Square.

aquarium of the americasNew Orleans has plenty of sightseeing attractions to visit and one of them is the Old US Mint. Here I took a tour and got to know that it is a world-renowned exhibit dating back to the days when Jazz was born. You will experience party all the time at Bourbon Street, which will make your day special and could also be found the same on Royal or Chartres. Aquarium of the Americas, Louis Armstrong at the wax museum, and Woldenberg Park are the sites where I visited and learnt something new at every place. A tour of the Louisiana Superdome always fascinates the tourists. So do not think that there is nothing to venture outside the French Quarter.

A visit to Degas House will make you understand about the New Orleans’ Saints. It is an elegant mansion where the French impressionist Edgar Degas resided. He created some 17 works of art with among the most important paintings of modern times. It is the Portraits in an Office: The New Orleans Cotton Exchange created in the year 1873. Well, after experiencing this I felt like shopping at this city and have some fun. Therefore, for Audubon Zoothis I went to the Warehouse District, which is a well-known place for its chic art galleries. The Louisiana Children’s Museum is a perfect spot for those who have children with them. So make their children happy by visiting at this museum and also let them check out the mini grocery store.

After exploring the Warehouse District I went to the St. Charles Streetcar and then towards the Garden District and Uptown area. Here you will get to see some of the most luxurious homes of the country. The homes are made-up of every color and with all kinds of curlicue imaginable. From here, I got the way towards Tulane and Loyola University campuses that could be found across the street from Audubon Park. Right behind the park I also explored the Audubon Zoo, a great experience of new white tigers. This is among the top zoos in the country. While I was returning back to the town I went down to Magazine Street where I experienced six miles of antique and gift shops, art galleries, restaurants and many others. So do not forget to stop at Mignon Faget, Magazine Street to buy some jewelries.

New Orleans Museum of ArtTo get the best cuisine of New Orleans you cannot skip the French Quarter as some of the finest restaurants are located at this place. Besides this, as I mentioned earlier, the Magazine Street area holds many excellent restaurants. You should also enjoy the nightlife of this city, which will make your hours special. Oh! I forget to tell you about the most attractive place of tourists that is the Cities of the Dead. It is the above ground cemeteries. Visitors get fascinated here and also love the oaks in the City Park. The City Park is a home to the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Botanical Gardens, Storyland and Carousel.

The historic New Orleans Fair Grounds offers Jazz and Heritage Festival at every spring season. So those who are planning to make a special time here can enjoy this festival and dance form. To experience a variety of themed gardens you should visit the Loungue Vue House and Gardens. Do not miss to take a ferry to the West Bank of New Orleans and tour Mardi Gras World. Here you will experience the eminent floats from close views. Gretna is located on the West Bank where you can take a tour to the David Crockett Fire Museum. The Bayou Segnette State Park features beautiful wavepool and the Boomtown Belle Casino in Harvey is a fantastic place that offers gaming fun with western flavor.

This is my memorable time, which I spent in New Orleans. This has increased my interest to explore other places that features various breathtaking attractions. Well, no doubt, New Orleans has everything for everyone. Historical to modernization – New Orleans offer all types of attractions to the tourists who come here from every corner of the world. The Chalmette offers a brilliant historic touch where the future president, Andrew Jackson and a patriotic pirate Jean Lafitte fought the Battle of New Orleans.
