Prince Eric and Ariel at the Adventureland Veranda

Lake Buena Vista is the city in Florida that hosts the famous Walt Disney World Resort. Lake Buena Vista was incorporated in 1967, and complete power over the area’s attractions was given to the Walt Disney Company. Less than a dozen people actually live in this city, which covers only 5 square miles in area. The only residents are Disney employees in the Royal Oak Court community north of the resort, and the only landowners are Disney and its fully-owned subsidiaries.

The main attraction of Lake Buena Vista is, of course, Walt Disney World. There are also three championship golf courses, the Lake Buena Vista Golf Course, the Grande Pines Golf Club, and the Falcons Fire Golf Club. All three courses are on the PGA tour. The other attraction is the Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede, located in a 1,100 seat arena. This is a one-hour dinner theatre involving the main dinner and a show with a live band playing country music, some magic tricks, and horse-riding competitions; it is essentially a Wild West revue.
