The village of Labuhan Pandan in northeast Lombok is the point of departure for the three Gili offshore islands in that region: Gili Lawang, Gili Sulat, and Gili Pentangan. In Labuhan Pandan, the black sands scorched by the sun are covered by layers of green leaves on top of which rest a tidy row of local fishing boats. From the village, canoes or boat charters can be arranged to depart for the offshore islands, which may be of interest to tourists for their relaxing white beaches, breezy winds, and warm sea waters.[1]
