I’ve had a chance to preview A Tasty Pixel’s new iPhone app, The Cartographer, and not only found it helpful, but it was fun to use and may I say, beautifully done. I was so impressed by how well this app looks, I almost forgot to actually use it! ( But, I did)

The Cartographer app is a tool that  integrates with Google’s desktop-based custom map tools for vacation planning with an easy  to use platform. The maps you produce can be easily accessed and edited on the iPhone. A great feature is that you can access your custom Google My Maps offline, so no roaming charges when you use it abroad.

The Cartographer app lets users:

  • Plan trips on the desktop by plotting vacation ideas on Google My Maps, then Sync Google My Maps with the iPhone
  • Record information from your trip and leave virtual breadcrumbs to remember your adventures
  • Share your trip with friends and family via email and Twitter
And its all on an attractive platform that makes the whole process easy and fun. The app is designed to run on the iPhone or iPod Touch running iOS 3.1 or later.

You can purchase it at the iPhone app store now for an introductory price of $1.99.
