This is my first trip to Canada and i planned a perfect Calgary vacation to make the most of it. Calgary happens to be the largest city in Alberta Canada. This city is located in the southern part of the Alberta province. The area here is on the foothills and the prairie, which is about eighty kilo meters on the east of the Canadian Rockies.When you reach the grasslands of Alberta, is where this city is located.

This place is a famous destination for winter sports and eco friendly tourism. There are many mountain resorts here which are located near the city and the metropolitan area. The Petroleum industry is quite huge and a lot of the economic activity here in Calgary revolves around this.  There are many hi tech industries and tourism and agriculture which is responsible for the economic growth of this city. The Winter Olympic Games was held for the first time in Canada in Calgary.

Calgary is known for it many plant and animal species here. Specifically the Rocky Mountain Douglas fir almost comes to the northern limit of the Calgary range. One of the most widely spread conifers in this region is the White spruce.

This is a city has retains a lot of its indigenous nature and the traditional culture of the hotel saloons, the western bars, hockey, football and night clubs.The whole country’s music scene also revolves around and is mostly concentrated into Calgary. This place is sometimes referred to as ‘Nashville of the north”.

There are lots of multicultural areas that you could visit here on your Calgary Vacation. There is a lawn which happens to be amongst the most diverse areas around the city. When you come to the seventeenth avenue, a nice little place which is also called the International Avenue. This place houses many ethnic stores and restaurants.

There is a large concentration of Calgarian people who live in the suburbs of the city. There are also many central districts like the seventeenth avenue, Inglewood, Forest lawn, Kensington, Marda Loop and Mission district.

There has been a rapid chance and evolution in the cultural venues and nightlife in this place. Calgary has also been a sought after location due to its proximity to the rocky mountain. This place has for long now, been a spot for winter destinations.

After Calgary hosted the international Winter Olympics in the year eighteen hundred and eighty eight , this city has ended up become home to many different winter sport facilities and parks like the Ski jumping, downhill skiing,  the famous Canada Olympic park which includes luge , cross country skiing, snowboarding. The famous Olympic oval, which includes speed skating and hockey, is also a part of this.
