When transcontinental railway started in the year 1883 through the Rocky Mountains, the same year three railway workers found out about this wonderful site as they took chance upon simmering hot springs. From then this site has become one of the well-known tourist destination. In the year 1885, this site was named as the Cave and Basin National Historic Site, which is the hot springs now a day called as. It is the first National Park of Canada, which was later lengthened as Banff National Park. The town of Banff is renowned as the Highest Town of Canada that has an elevation of 1,372 metres above the sea level.

Banff is the home to more than 6,000 people. When I went to explore the town of Banff, I witnessed something great and amazing that could not be expressed in few words. So here I am giving you my experiences in Banff. This town has spectacular views that are simply breathtaking. As it is a national park, Banff is a mixture of 6,641 square kilometers of mountainous terrain, many glaciers and ice fields, dense coniferous forest, and alpine landscapes. The town of Banff holds the major commercial centre of the park that lies in the Bow River valley.

From my perspective, I will say that this is the best town that offers hot springs, Banff Springs Hotel, Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies, the cave and Basin National Historic Site and the Banff Park Museum National Historic Site. Banff offers some of the best scenic views. So I climbed the mountain to take some magnificent clicks of the picturesque area. Some of the scenic wonders of Banff are lovely and no one in this world should miss to visit such a great tourist destination.

Experiencing the pencil thin Douglas firs is a real experience, which I have not seen much as a tourist. This grows in rocky soil and is very tall that guards the mountain. Whereas, at the trailhead, I have seen the forest floor becomes green and yellow colored with mountain grasses and evergreen groundcover. Well, I got a sweet company of red squirrels up and down the trail, squeaking and chirping to each other, as if they were introducing the town to me. After reaching to the top of the mountain, I have seen no eagles or birds flying on the skies. Amazing, but is little shocking as well for me. Because whenever I went to some scenic beauties, I have always witnessed beautiful birds circling the skies.

After getting down from the mountains, my legs was being stretched and to soothe the muscles I went ahead to have food at a fine restaurant in Banff. After an hour rest and food, I went further to hike along the dramatic riverbank where I saw the water carving the rock. Across the river, I observed another wonderful scene, which is the historic Banff Springs Hotel. I walked over the bridge to the forested walkway to the storybook castle hotel. Far ahead, the area was too cool, and was sheltered by the tall firs. I was under a cool evergreen canopy that protected the path nicely and provided habitat for elk, deer, and also bear.

I watched all of them from distance and made me happy. The setting of sun flashed off the captivating river and my steps get faster to reach to the end of the pathway before the evening cold take its position. Truly, the Bow Falls offer charismatic views to every tourist. To every corner of the town wherever I turn up, I could see an incredible surprise. Well, after a long journey activities of hiking my body was desperately needed some comfort and that I fulfilled through the Banff Hot Springs. A steamy, heated bath gave me immense pleasure. Due to this, I was able to take a good sleep at night and recollected all my memories that I have experienced at that day.

Visiting this scenic wonderland in the town of Banff has provided a set of memories for a lifetime. It is a perfect mixture of water, land, trees and other natural beauties with an array of colors. I believe that Alberta itself is a set of major attractions that offer a travel destination like Banff to the entire human beings who flock here from all over the world.
