The Untied States has a wonderful national park that offers amazing attractions to the visitors. The Carlsbad Caverns National Park is located in the Guadalupe Mountains in Southeastern New Mexico. The main attraction of the park is the show cave that attracts most of the visitors from every corner of the United States and beyond. Visitors can hike without having any guided tour through the natural entrance. Otherwise, you can even take the elevator directly to the Underground Lunchroom, which is below 750 feet.

The Carlsbad Caverns National Park has two different entries on the National Register of Historic Places and they are The Caverns Historic District and the Rattlesnake Springs Historic District. Some two thirds of the park is kept aside as a wilderness area that helps to ensure no prospect changes will be made to the habitat. Peak visitation normally takes place during weekends following the Memorial Day and Fourth of July. This national park also includes a huge cave chamber, which is the 3rd largest in the Americas and 7th largest in the world.

The Big Room – a natural limestone chamber of 4,000 feet long, 625 feet wide, and 350 feet high is the highest point. While exploring the Carlsbad Caverns National Park, you will get lot of named rooms to experience like Balloon Ballroom, Bat Cave, Bell Cord Room, Bifrost Room, Big Room or The Hall of the Giants, Chocolate High, Green Lake Room, Guadalupe Room, Hall of the White Giant, King’s Palace, Lake of the Clouds, Left Hand Tunnel, Mystery Room, New Mexico Room, New Section, Papoose Room, Queen’s Chamber, Spirit World, Talcum Passage, The Rookery, and Underground Lunchroom.

This national park includes 116 caves out of which only one is open to the public named Slaughter Canyon Cave. This cave has striking rock formations. It is advised to you to take a guided tour, as the site has no paving or lightings installed. The park also offers three hiking trails and an unpaved drive that provide access to the desert scenery and ecosystem. The park has wildlife habitats, picnic tables, a natural oasis with landscaping and some other things to see.

It is better if you take a map of the park grounds and then start exploring the Carlsbad Caverns National Park. There is no compulsion of reserving the ticket before you reach. So enjoy this magnificent site and try some of the activities as well.
