Every place has something to offer to every tourist who throngs to explore its attractions and live a lively, glorious life. Being a Canadian, I’ve never been to Calgary. This magnificent city lies on the banks of the Bow River where the plains meet the foothills of the Canadian Rockies in Alberta. Well, No doubt, Canada itself is a giant breathtaking attraction and wherever you go beauty never fails to fascinate you in Canada. The best way to explore this city is by sailing where you can enjoy the pleasant water and surrounding areas as well.
So I went to explore Calgary through the route of water and docked at the port of Calgary, and after that, I went to accommodate a room to stay and rest. I was very much enthusiast to explore the city as much as possible and for that reason took few hours rest and went to explore the nearby attractions first from my hotel. From natural wonders to man made marvels, Calgary is a set of amazing attractions worth the money. But instead of exploring much of the attractions I enjoyed the water activities to my fullest; as the city is well-known for skiing and hiking activities. Some one million people rush here to enjoy these activities and also explore the minute’s away attractions like the Rockies, outstanding golf in Kananaskis Country and also the beautiful scenery of Banff National Park.
There are big list of attractions in Calgary worth exploring and some of them are Aero Space Museum, Art Gallery of Calgary, Bar U Ranch National Historic Site, Bridgeland, Calaway Park, Calgary Flames, Calgary Tower, Calgary Zoo, Canada Olympic Park, Chinatown, Devonian Gardens, Dinosaur Provincial Park, Eau Claire, Eau Claire Market & Prince’s Island Park, Fish Creek Provincial Park, Fort Calgary Historic Park, Glenbow Museum, Heritage Park Historical Village, Museum of the Regiments, Naval Museum of Alberta, Royal Tyrrell Museum, Telus World of Science and Victoria Park.
Strolling at the Eau Claire Market and Prince’s Island Park will worth a lot. This city is the home to world popular Calgary Exhibition and Stampede. Also take a ride at the top of the Calgary Tower which is a real adventure to experience the city from the top. I visited the Heritage Park Historical Village, Canada Olympic Park, the Glenbow Museum, and the Calgary Zoo, Botanical Gardens and Prehistoric Park which I never forget in my rest of the life. The nightlife could be best experienced at the 17th Ave SW between 4th St SW and 14th St SW. Also there are various spots on 19th Ave SW to enjoy a great time.
Calgary enjoys warm summers and cold winters. The winter temperature drops down below freezing. The mountains make the climate of this city quite dry and little rainfall could be experienced in summers which are in the months of June to August. Winter seasons are long so you can enjoy this season and make a pleasant stay in Calgary. Tourists rush here to enjoy the activities but there are much more to uncover in Calgary. Try to experience the huge ski jumps as the city hosts many events and also visit the museum that features a Hall of Fame. If you want to step back in time then head to Fort Calgary that represents the city as it was earlier.
I also enjoyed other activities like cycling to explore the rustic trails and also got some time to a glance at the wildlife in Inglewood Bird Sanctuary. Shopping at the major entertainment and shopping centre in the world is a wonderful experience. I got impressed as I hiked where the dinosaurs once roamed, and experienced life which represents the past and completes with pioneers, cowboys, and Aboriginal dancers. It’s a beautiful experience at this beautiful Calgary which will always flow into my mind.
